Read Now

  • Students should be reading 15 to 20 minutes in English this week, Monday through Thursday.
  • Students should write one sentence under the day's date in their agenda on days Monday through Thursday. This sentence should relate to their reading and can summarize their reading, give their opinion of it, or reflect on it by making a personal connection.
  • Students should study their English spelling words at home this week. There is a spelling test on Thursday. The words should be written into students' agendas under "Mots de la semaine." Students received these words last week. Students may also have a print-out of the words. Students can study their words with a family member or on SpellingCity.com or using the SpellingCity app (for phones and tablets). Students have their usernames and passwords in their agendas.
  • Students are asked to complete 2 pages of math work this week out of their navy blue duo-tang. Please note this minimum requirement is per week, not per day.
  • November/December book orders went home today. These orders will be due by 9AM on December 5th. You are welcome to place gift orders and I can arrange for you to pick them up at the office.
  • On Wednesday (Nov. 20), all Stratford Elementary School students will be attending a Charlottetown Islanders hockey game at the Eastlink Centre during the school day.
    • It is very important that students bring a substantial snack/small meal with them to eat and/or money to buy food. Last year when the school went to a game, it went into double overtime, and we were quite late getting back. Any food students bring needs to be peanut and fish-free. It should not require a microwave.
    • At the earliest, we will be getting back to the school at 1PM. We will be leaving the school at some point after 9AM.
    • There is no fee or permission slip required to attend the game.
    • Students are invited to wear blue and white (our school colours). This is optional.
