  • Students should be reading 15 to 20 minutes in French this week, Monday through Thursday.
  • Students should write one sentence under the day's date in their agenda on days Monday through Thursday. This sentence should relate to their reading and can summarize their reading, give their opinion of it, or reflect on it by making a personal connection.
  • Students should study their English spelling words at home at least twice this week.  The words should be written into students' agendas under "Mots de la semaine" for last week. Students may also have a print-out of the words. Students can study their words with a family member or on SpellingCity.com or using the SpellingCity app (for phones and tablets). Students have their usernames and passwords in their agendas. The spelling test will be on Wednesday (Day 6). On Thursday (Day 1), students will get new words.
  • Students are asked to complete 2 pages of math work this week out of their navy blue duo-tang. Please note this minimum requirement is per week, not per day.
  • The October book order is due Thursday, October 10th.

Late yesterday, Stratford staff was made aware that there is to be a Meet the Staff function at the school on Tuesday, September 24th.  Parents of grades 3 and 4 students are invited to attend at 5 PM. Parents of grades 5 and 6 students are invited to attend at 6 PM.

Grade 3 and 4 teachers will each be holding a brief 15-minute information session at 5:15 PM (in their classrooms). Parents are then invited to take a look around the school and the new addition.

I am cognizant of the fact that this event has been scheduled with little notice. Please do not feel as if you need to cancel other engagements to attend. Most of the information I will be sharing is review of information already sent home. Any additional information I can share with you via e-mail. That being said, I will be happy to meet any parents or guardians able to attend on short notice. It is also a good opportunity for people to see the school and the new addition.
